Virtual - 38th Annual Wallowa Valley Festival of the Arts
In response to the ongoing Coronavirus situation, the Staff and Board of the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture must adjust the format and feel of the 38th Annual Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts. Although we won’t be able to gather for our traditional in-person celebration, we are creating a virtual presentation of artists’ websites and their works, through an online WVFA Silent Auction. Artwork will be hung at the Josephy Center. Bidding prices should start below $750. Artists receive 60% of silent auction sales. This is a juried event and acceptance is based on artistic integrity.
The silent auction will be on our website: https://josephy.org/arts-council/festival-of-the-arts/ beginning on Sept. 11, by 5pm.
Festival Director, Jeff Costello, states, “We are so sorry that we will all miss our annual in-person gathering and celebration of the arts this year, but our priority has to be everyone’s health and safety. With that, we are still committed to doing everything in our power to keep the Festival tradition alive…so, going virtual for this year was our best option. We want to continue to support our artists, even if that must be from remote locations. And, hopefully, this will just make our next opportunity to gather in-person again, to celebrate the arts, that much sweeter!”
To submit artwork for the Silent Auction by 5pm, Saturday, August 15, please email (coordinator@josephy.org) up to three images (photographs of artwork must be high-quality, longest side must be up to 1200dpi), please include your name, a short bio, a website (if applicable), medium and size of work. All work must be original. Artists will be notified by August 19th what artwork has been accepted. Artwork will need to be at the Josephy Center by September 1. The online auction goes live on September 11, by 5 pm. On September 30 the auction will end and winning bidders will be notified and arrangements will be made for pick up or shipping.
