Christmas in Joseph Holiday Bazaar II

Details: We run the bazaar 2 separate weekends. Some vendors attend both weekends and some only one or the other. We have both hand crafted and commercial exhibitors. There will be door prizes and Christmas music both weekends. On the 28th and the 29th, Santa Paws will be at the Bazaar. Santa will be there for photos for children, adults and of course our most beloved pets! We have 30 vendors attending each weekend from within Wallowa County and also out of state vendors like ""Lavendor ""R"" Us"". Santa's Train

Details: Santa's Train - Come ride the Santa Train on December 14, 2008 in Wallowa. Train departs at 9:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm. The trip takes about 1.5 hours. The price is a can of food per person for the food bank. The train can carry 180 people per run. Santa will be on the train. For information and reservations, please call (541) 886-3200. Eagle Cap Extreme Sled Dog Race

Details: The running of Eagle Cap Extreme sled dog race in the scenic northeastern corner of Oregon is set to start on Jan. 15, 2009. The Veterinary Checks will be on Wednesday the 14th in downtown Joseph in the morning and Enterprise in the afternoon. Spectators can also see the teams in Halfway, Oregon for the mandatory layover of the 200 mile race. Both races will finish at the Ferguson Ridge Ski area just outside of Joseph. The Musher Banquet with dinner and dance open to the public is on Saturday evening at the Joseph Community Center. The race will run two event levels: 100 mile 8-dog race and a 200 mile 12 dog-race. The 200 mile race is Oregon’s only Iditarod and Yukon Quest qualifier. Come check out this exciting and unique event in our own backyard!
