SUMMARY:Brown Bag Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Brown Bag is a free event that feature informal presentations and discussions on the first and third or more\, Tuesday noons of each month. Today features: Susan Roberts\, Wallowa County Commissioner. Susan grew up and went to school in Minam and Wallowa\, served in the US Marine Corps\, and has been active in community affairs and local and statewide politics most of her adult life. She was the long-serving Mayor of Enterprise\, and President of the League of Oregon Cities before she successfully ran for County Commissioner in 2008.\n\n\n\nMarch is "Women's Month" at the Josephy Center\, and 2019 is an even 100 years after Congress passes the 19th Amendment\, giving women the right to vote (ratification came in 1920). Most Oregon women actually got the vote in 1912 after six legislative tries! Oregon was out in front then\, as Susan was out there long before the current crop of women governors and state and federal legislators began grabbing headlines.
