Wallowa Land Trust Outing: "First Foods"
“First Foods” at the Tamkaliks Grounds - Saturday, July 9th: 9am-12pm
Tour the Tamkaliks grounds in Wallowa and explore the rich cultural history of the Native American tribes in our valley. Wenix Red Elk from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation will provide family-friendly activities and a presentation based on the “First Foods” model used by the tribes.
Outings fill up fast, so please contact us to reserve your space. In addition, many of our outings have heavy sun exposure and include hiking on hilly uneven terrain; it is important to be aware of your physical limitations and come prepared. Please dress appropriately for the elements and for the outing. Wear sunscreen and hiking boots and don't forget to always carry water.
