Range Rider Presents: An American Forrest
An American Forrest is Western music. Old-school country and cowboy music. But this music is less about day to day cowboy life and more about what crosses your mind when you stop counting switchbacks on a trail or while you’re waiting for a heifer to calve. It’s the rhythms that come from what first sounded like silence at daybreak in the canyons. Based in a remote corner of Northeast Oregon, Forrest spends his summers in the wilderness with a pack string, and winters he tours throughout west, his shows and records garnering praise from No Depression, American Standard Time, and NPR, as well as opening spots for Corb Lund, Dave Stamey, John Craigie, and performances at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering alongside legends Ramblin’ Jack Elliot and Ian Tyson.
