Wallowa County Residents are invited to the February 7, 2018 Public Meeting at Community Connections at 6 pm. This past November 2017 a revision of Wallowa County’s Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) was completed. The CWPP is a tool for communities in fire prone areas to assess issues leading to wildfire risk and identify priority areas for fire mitigation. The new CWPP takes into account a variety of issues that when combined lead to extreme wildfire risks. The New CWPP focuses on three key Goals: 1. Creating Fire Adapted Communities 2. Improving Wildfire Response 3. Restoring and Maintaining Healthy Landscapes We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
