Local Investing Series - Community Public Offering
Oregon has a new law that allows regular folks to invest in Oregon businesses, and encourages Oregon’s entrepreneurs to raise capital from their neighbors. The Northeast Oregon Community Capital Collaborative (NEOC3), Hatch Oregon, and the Blue Mt. Community College Small Business Development Center (BMCC SBDC) are teaming up to host evening presentations in Baker City and Joseph. Northeast Oregon Economic Development District (NEOEDD) staff will describe the Community Public Offering (CPO) program and its history, and then Joseph-based Judy Goodman, founder of BGood Bars, will present her actual CPO that is filed with the state.
Suggested donation to NEOEDD scaled $5 to $15; free for students
These events are open to the public; no registration is required. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and live music!
BGood Bars are artisan energy bars that are hand-crafted with unprocessed and often organic ingredients. They are sweetened only with honey and/or the naturally occurring sugars in the fruit, and dipped in “fair-trade” dark chocolate. Judy Goodman launched BGood Bars in 2014 and has seen growth ever since, expanding her reach throughout Oregon and Idaho. She is especially excited to have her CPO launch at Winding Waters, a river outfitter that also sells BGood products.
“I thought of the Boathouse because Winding Waters both represents and supports BGood Bars,” says Goodman. “I spent about 25 years wading rivers and snorkeling streams doing fisheries research, and I also love to fly fish, go backpacking, and raft. These are the types of activities which inspired BGood Bars to begin with.”

NEOC3 is a community partnership that’s spreading the word about local investing, to educate people about their ability to take more control of their financial futures. The Northeast Oregon Economic Development District’s mission is to provide resources and facilitate quality decision-making for the benefit of entrepreneurs, businesses and communities in Baker, Union, and Wallowa counties.
