Fall Arts Classic
Wallowa Valley Music Alliance and Fishtrap team up for a culturally enriching weekend beginning Friday, September 9. Classical musicians from right here in Wallowa County join visiting regional artists to present a wide variety of classical music in six different locations over three days. The chamber players will be rehearsing at a three different locations open to the public today. Hosting in Joseph will be Valley Bronze at 1:00-2:00 pm, and Phinney Gallery at 2:00-3:00 pm. In Enterprise Dandelion Wines will host from 4:00-5:00 pm.
Saturday evening it’s all happening at Wallowa Lake Lodge with dinner at 6:00 pm followed by a musical showcase at 7:30 pm. Program for Saturday night includes selections sung by soprano Shannon McNerney accompanied by Gail Swart on piano, plus soprano Diane Gray-Chamberlain with James Cook, piano (Gershwin, Puccini, Webber). Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano (Poulenc) will feature Guthridge, Eubanks and Cook and movements from Sonata for Violin and Piano (Mozart) will be performed by violinist Lisa Robertson and Cook. Cello and Piano Music from Spain (Granados) will feature Dixon and Cook. Tickets for Saturday night’s event are $30, available at wvmusicalliance.org or call the Lodge at 541-432-9821.
