Web-Based Social Networking for YOUR Business
Interactive Workshop Overview
Thursday, February 25
4:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Wallowa County ESD
107 SW First Street
Enterprise OR 97828
Contact: Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce 541-4264622
Maybe you’re interested in using social networking for your business but still have questions…
? We already use e-mail what do we need this for?
? Does this replace a website?
? My competitors aren’t using this, why should we?
? My customers barely understand their cell phones. Are they going to use this?
? I’m already working 70 hour weeks. How much of my time will this take?
This three-hour workshop will take you from asking about business social networking to using it. No longer just a teen chat forum or “techie” curiosity, web-based social networking is being adopted by businesses of every type to reach their customers and prospects across the street and around the world.
If you’ve ever used the Web to find something, you have all the technical ability you need to use social networking for your business. In the course of the workshop you will…
ü Have live web access on a desktop or laptop in the ESD lab
ü Get coaching from web marketing professionals
ü Tour examples of business social networking sites and activities
ü Build a simple business blogsite / website (yes, for $0!)
ü Create a Facebook page for your business
ü Use Twitter to comment on your business
ü Publish promo videos on YouTube
ü Tune in on worldwide buzz about your business and products
Come dressed comfortably for Web touring, and bring basic information about your business plus something you’re already doing or planning to do that’s of interest to your customers…a new product, service, or special. We’ll help you do the rest.
Your workshop leader is Art Hill, VP for Economic Development at Blue Mountain Community College and Director of the BMCC Small Business Development Centers. Art is a small business owner, and has spent his entire career in software development, technical sales, electronic publishing, and Web marketing.
After the workshop, you’re not on your own (unless you really want to be). You’re eligible for free, advising on Web marketing through the BMCC Small Business Development Centers and special pricing on SBDC webinars for the next 12 months. Some webinars have been developed by your hosts for this evening’s workshop
Workshop cost $15.00 for Chamber Members $25.00 for non Members
Seating is limited to first 25 participants. Plan on registering early.
Registration and additional information is available at the Chamber Office

Hello ECX Volunteers!
Thank you all for helping to put on the best Eagle Cap Extreme event yet!
To thank all the volunteers, the Eagle Cap Extreme Board of Directors and Coordinators are having several opportunities to say THANK YOU! We are planning three different events:
1. Fergi BBQ Bash - Saturday, February 20th at 4pm at the Fergi Ski Lodge. We will provide food, beverages, and wood for the fire pit.
2. Halfway Volunteer Gathering - planned for this spring in Halfway (exact time/date to be determined). The halfway point of the Eagle Cap 200 mile race.
3. Ollokot Picnic - planned for early summer at Ollokot campground on the Imnaha River (exact time/date to be determined). Picnic/BBQ at the checkpoint where all the sled dog action takes place!
The ECX Board of Directors are grateful for all your help and hope you will be able to attend one or all of the volunteer thank-you gatherings. I will send more info as we finalize dates for the Halfway and Ollokot gatherings.

Tunesmith Night - Saturday, February 13, 7:00 PM at Lear's Main Street Pub & Grill in Enterprise - Our songwriter showcase for this month features Joseph duo John and Deb Moro with folk-pop flavored songs sung with heart-felt harmonies, plus a visit from Pendleton's James Dean Kindle of the Eastern Oregon Playboys. Soulful and melodic, sometimes funny, JD pours out emotion and grit through his original compositions. Also joining the Tunesmith team is Caleb Samples, local master of many stringed instruments, who also happens to have a knack for "capturing the crappy times" in his music--broken-hearted love ballads reminiscent of Hank Williams Sr. but with a sweet, soft-spoken, understated style. Lear's is at 111 W. Main St, Enterprise, 541-426-3300. Food is great - come early for dinner! 7$ admission. Tunesmith Night is dedicated to providing an opportunity for songwriters to prese nt their original work to a quiet and respectful audience.
