| Description: The running of Eagle Cap Extreme in the scenic northeastern corner of Oregon is tentatively set for the third weekend in Jan. 2009. The race will run two event levels: 100 mile 8-dog race and a 200 mile 12 dog-race. The 200 mile race is an "Iditarod" qualifier. Improved this year will be an emphasis on the involvement of local school children and teachers. The schools of Joseph, Enterprise, and Halfway, Oregon will participate in veterinary checks and the tracking of mushers across the course.... |

Over 60 members are trained Range Safety Officers and 40 are National Rifle Association Certified Instructors; qualified to teach: Range Safety Officer, Personal Protection/Concealed Carry, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Reloading Courses. Members interests range from cowboy action, high power and small bore rifle and pistol, to muzzle loading, archery and shotgun sports. The Association is developing a 160 acre range 7 miles north of Enterprise which is open to members and the public. A full auto shoot is scheduled for 17-18 June. |
